Harold’s Cross Educate Together Secondary School is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly Bus Escort, to join our team.
This would be in a part-time capacity to facilitate transport of two students for the school year.
Applicants would need to be available in the morning before school and in the afternoon after school.
School begins at 8:20am and finishes at 3:10pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and 12:35 on Fri.
The successful candidate will need to work every day that the school is open.
Role is for 10 Hours approx.
Exact hours will be confirmed when the route is confirmed.
The job of a bus escort entails the following duties :
*ensuring the safe transition of pupils with special needs from their homes to school and home again each day.
*ensuring that each student is received by some responsible person at the set down point.
*liaising with parents and staff daily.
*ensuring all children are safe on school transport. (seating, harnesses, seat belts etc)
The appointment is subject to Garda vetting requirements.
Child Safeguarding online training with TUSLA.
Additional relevant qualifications or courses would be beneficial (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies)
Shortlisting will apply, only candidates selected, will be contacted.
Hourly rate of pay is €15.50 per hour, see Appendix 3 of Circular 0020/2025.
Holiday pay is calculated at a rate of 8% of the hourly rate. This equates to €1.24 (€15.50 x 8%).
Holiday pay is paid as a separate payment during Christmas, Easter and summer breaks.
Bus Escorts are entitled to claim social welfare entitlements during summer closures.
