An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The following qualifications, experience and skills are desirable: experience of multi-grade teaching and working with an SNA, ability to differentiate the curriculum, a good understanding of the Ethos of a Catholic School, good behaviour management skills and strong IT skills. Candidates called to interview will be required to supply original copies of third level qualifications and proof of Teaching Council registration. In order to be eligible for appointment candidates must have a certificate to teach Religious Education. Appointment will be subject, but not limited to teaching Council Registration, Occupational Health Screening, Garda Vetting and satisfactory references.
