Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time fixed-term position (5 days per week) to provide release day cover for teaching principals in five schools across Cork and Limerick. The successful candidate will work one day per week in each of the following schools:
Ballygiblin NS – Mitchelstown, Co. Cork (base school)
Glenahulla NS – Mitchelstown, Co. Cork
Kyle NS – Youghal, Co. Cork
Scoil Náisiúnta an Pháirc – Youghal, Co. Cork
The Children’s Ark School – Limerick City
As the post involves travel between multiple locations, a Department-sanctioned travel allowance will be paid. A full driving licence and access to your own transport is strongly recommended.
Although the role involves a good deal of travel, it offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to gain diverse teaching experience across a range of educational settings—from small rural schools to a specialist school in a hospital environment. Each school has a welcoming and supportive staff, and the variety of teaching environments ensures a dynamic and fulfilling experience.
This post runs for the full 2025/2026 school year and is ideally suited to an adaptable, enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working independently and building positive relationships with a range of school communities.
