An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
1 fixed term and 1 part time post for the school year 2025/2026 to cover job sharing positions.
St. Christopher's Special School caters for pupils with a Moderate General Learning Disability, pupils with a Severe/Profound General Learning Disability and pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder within the moderate to severe range. The age range of the pupils is 4-18 years. Many pupils have additional complex needs and/or multiple disabilities and medical needs. Applicants should have experience working with children with a learning disability, physical, sensory and complex difficulties and must demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to meet the special educational, care and medical needs of children in the school. Experience working with pupils who display behaviours of concern is essential. Applicants must be willing to work in all classes. IT experience of AAC devices, iPads, tablets, switches, interactive whiteboards, Lámh sign language is desirable
