Scoil Mhuire is a co-educational, vertical primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Clogher. It is expected that applicants will have a commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school.
This post is for the position of Fixed-Term Acting Principal with teaching duties. In September Scoil Mhuire will have 4 classroom teachers, one full-time SET position and a further full-time position comprising of 4 SET days and 1 Principal Release day per week. We will also have a part-time EAL teacher and 2 SNAs.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as outlined in Circular 0044/2019:
Domain One: Leading Teaching and Learning
Domain Two: Managing the organisation
Domain Three: Leading school development
Domain Four: Developing leadership capacity.
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
- An in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal skills
- Proven leadership skills
- A high level of understanding of special educational needs and of inclusion and diversity in education
