Passage East National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Waterford, Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan. Applications are invited from fully qualified teachers who are registered with the Teaching Council and have minimum 5 years recognised teaching service in a primary school in Ireland. Candidates are asked to provide cover letter detailing their experience, skills and qualities and showing their suitability for this post. Copies of certification to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school must be included. Email address is required as all communication will be via email. Applicants must submit five copies of the completed application.
The successful candidate will exhibit:
- An understanding and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic primary school.
- Proven leadership skills.
- A high level of understanding and knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education.
- Excellent people management and communication skills.
- A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
- An in-depth knowledge of the Primary school curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience.
- Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school.
- Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with all staff members, Board of Management, parents/ guardians and the wider school community.
- A commitment to shared leadership and a willingness to delegate and develop leadership capacity and empower others.
- A clear and definite understanding of the four domains for leadership and
management in a school as set out in ' Looking At Our Schools 2022 - A Quality
Framework.'
The appointment will be subject to Garda vetting, satisfactory references and Occupational Health Screening.
