Inver National School is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent position. The appointment will be made by open competition.
The Deputy Principal as per Circular 0044/2019 will support the Principal in the day-to-day management of the school, will act or deputise as the Principal in the absence of the Principal and will work in partnership with the Principal to ensure effective leadership and management of the school. The Deputy Principal will work very closely with the Principal to ensure a continuing high standard of teaching and learning in the school.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
- Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation.
-Previous teaching experience across a range of classes in multi- grade setting.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative manner.
-Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative and evidence based activities.
-Ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the school.
-Ability to work collaboratively with all staff members and the wider school community.
-Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic School.

Current and Continuing Teaching Council registration
Current Garda Vetting requirements
Certificate for Religious Education (for post 2011 qualifications)
Please note that a minimum of 3 eligible applications must be received in order for the shortlisting and interview process to proceed. In the event that this threshold is not met, the recruitment process may be postponed.
