Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. John's NS invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. We are therefore looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school.
We are seeking a professional who demonstrates the highest standards of confidentiality in all aspects of their role and has a strong commitment to maintaining the trust of children, parents, and colleagues. The successful candidate should be energetic, enthusiastic, and able to contribute effectively to our team while working on their own initiative.
Candidates must be willing to undertake courses that relate to the needs of the children and the school. Experience and/or training in working with children with A.S.D., O.T., emotional and behavioural difficulties is desirable. Experience of First Aid Training would be advantageous.
The ability to work respectfully and effectively with children from diverse cultural backgrounds is essential, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with supplementary panel rights must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form (PF1) with their application.
Applications will be accepted by post only, no later than 3pm on the specified closing date.
