The post is 0.5 of a day.
Candidates must be able to work well as part of a team, be flexible, display strong work ethic,use their own initiative, demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training, respect the ethos of the school and be willing to work under the direction of the class teachers and school Principal. The successful candidate will be expected to respect the confidentiality of students at all times
Desirable skills include:
- relevant experience
- experience of working in a DEIS school setting
- experience of supporting pupils with Type 1 Diabetes
- willingness to undertake additional training to support the primary care needs of the children and of the school
- suitability to the school and the needs of the pupils in the school
Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as set out by the DES Circular 0051/2019, though having Fetac Level 5/6 in SEN or other relevant qualifications in areas such as First Aid certification & ICT is desirable.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and completion of the online Túsla Child Safeguarding training.
The school also wishes to establish a Substitute panel of suitable SNAs to cover staff absences.
