An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Thomond Primary School is a mainstream school with two special classes for autistic learners. We invite applications for a fixed-term teaching position. The successful candidate will initially be assigned to a special education teaching role, though this assignment may be adjusted by the school principal based on the school's needs and priorities.
Highly desirable requirements include;
- knowledge & experience of teaching pupils with a range of complex needs
- knowledge & experience of teaching in a DEIS school
- previous experience in literacy, numeracy, wellbeing initiatives aswell as a willingness and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- involvement in extra-curricular activities such as music, the arts, coaching team sports or other activities
Applicants should be diligent, enthusiastic, and innovative educators who are eager to engage with our whole school community and contribute to the overall development of the school.
Candidates must hold a certificate to teach RE and should include a copy of this certificate with their application.
