Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
There are two fixed- term teaching vacancies to fill:
- Mainstream Class teacher in the senior end of the school to cover a career break for the duration of the next school year.
- A fixed-term EAL post until 25/10/2024, which may be filled as a fixed term position for the remainder of the school year, pending enrolment figures on 30/09/2024.
At St. John’s National School, we are seeking to appoint teachers who are experienced at working as team players, willing to work as part of a highly-motivated team and who are willing to contribute to the overall development of our school.

The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
-Experience of working in a similar setting (senior mainstream classroom, EAL setting)
-Evidence of excellent classroom management skills, planning skills and flexibility
-Solid evidence of having good communication skills
-Evidence of ongoing meaningful CPD relevant to the teaching positions advertised through this advert
- Sound knowledge of Special Education
- Experience of team-teaching and other in-class support initiatives

St. John's National School is a Catholic school. The successful candidate must hold the appropriate Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education.
Applicants must include a copy of the recognised qualification to teach Religious Education with their application.
