The current hourly rate, set by the Department of Education, is €13.87 per hour. Duties will include escorting children to and from St Joseph's Special School, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated with appropriate straps and harnesses where provided and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point. Previous experience working with children with special needs would be an advantage but is not essential. All Bus Escort will have to be Garda vetted by the school.
