An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Triest is a special school for students with a dual diagnosis of autism and mild / moderate intellectual disability aged 12 - 18 years. Experience of teaching students who have a diagnosis of autism and intellectual disability in a special school/special class environment is essential.
Additional relevant qualifications/courses (e.g. First Aid, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, CPI, PECS, Lámh, Social Stories, Floortime, Intensive Interaction etc.) would be highly desirable.
Successful candidates should have a good understanding of how to promote positive behaviour in the classroom.
Experience of managing behaviours of concern is essential.
