Scoil Sheosaimh Naofa Ballinagar is a co-educational Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin.
There are seven mainstream classes and two special educational class. There are 12 teachers, 7 SNAs, 2 bus escorts, a school secretary and caretaker.
This position is a permanent administrative principal post and commences on May 13th 2024.
Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland (Route 1 - Primary), be fully Garda vetted and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland.
All applications must be received by post no later than 4th April 2024.

The roles and responsibilities of the post of Principal Teacher are determined by the four domains of Leadership and Management as set out in chapter 4 of Circular 0044/2019.

In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
• An understanding and a commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and an ability to support and promote school/parish links.

• Understanding and knowledge of Special Education Needs, inclusion and diversity in education.
• Excellent people management and communication skills and an ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community.
• Proven leadership skills and a commitment to school self-evaluation.
• A commitment to and evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
The appointment will also be subject to confirmation of qualifications, Garda Vetting requirements (DES Circular 31/2016) and Occupational Health Screening.
