Blessington ETNS is small school idyllically situated on the outskirts of Blessington Town in West Wicklow. It has four mainstream classes and two autism classes. We currently have 98 pupils and a very welcoming and warm school community.
Ideally the successful candidate would start on May 13th 2024. However, we realise that notice needs to be given to schools so the Board could accommodate a start date of August 28th 2024.
The criteria for interview will be based on Looking at Our Schools 2022 and the following four domains –
• Leading learning and teaching
• Managing the organisation
• Leading school development
• Developing leadership capacity
An understanding of the Educate Together Ethos will also be assessed.
Candidates must:
• Be fully registered with the Teaching Council (Route 1).
• Have at least 5 years recognised primary teaching experience.
• Comply with the eligibility criteria for Principalship as set out in Circular 44/2019 from the Department of Education.
