An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Piltown NS is mainstream school with two special classes attached, catering for pupils with a diagnosis of Autism. The successful candidate will be shared between SET and ASD initially. The successful candidate should have some experience in a Special Class setting and a solid understanding of ASD and methodologies used in school settings. In addition the successful candidate must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team. Knowledge and experience of ASD, PECS & Lámh. Positive behaviour management strategies are an advantage.
