An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Red Door School are seeking to appoint three bus escorts commencing as soon as possible. The escort will accompany pupils on specialised bus transport from their homes to and from school.

The buses operates between;

Ticknock Hill area – Monkstown
Newcastle - Monkstown (taxi route - 1 student)
Johnstown/Dun Laoghaire Area - Monkstown

We are also seeking a panel of escorts to provide long and short term relief cover on other routes. Routes are subject to change based on pupil addresses.
The contract is subject to change should pupils join/leave the service. Escorts must have their own transport to and from the first drop off point.

The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to assist them getting on and off the bus and securing appropriate seatbelts.
Experience working with children with autism and complex needs is desirable. Candidates will be expected to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way, they will need to communicate regarding pick ups/drop offs, illnesses, traffic, delays etc.
Appointment is subject to garda vetting and appropriate character references.
Salary is €13.40 per hour processed fortnightly and only during term time. Escorts are not paid during but receive holiday pay instead.
