Additional Information:
The School of the Divine Child, Lavanagh Centre is a co-educational specialist school for students with physical and complex disabilities.
Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as per DES Circular 0051/2019. .
The duties of the post will be subject to the needs of the school and may change accordingly.
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, able to work on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD, respect the school ethos and to work as part of a team.
SNAs can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal.
An additional qualification in additional/special needs care and/or education, or related area, is advantageous.
Experience in working with children with epilepsy, complex needs, physical needs is desirable.
Additional childcare and/or other relevant qualifications or courses (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS, LÁMH, etc) would be of great benefit.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening and completion of Children First online training.
