An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Hilda's Special School educates children aged between 4 - 18 years of age with special educational needs. Pupils have a moderate or severe/profound general learning disability. Many pupils have additional complex needs and/or multiple disabilities including autism, ADHD, ADD, EBD (requiring behavioural management skills), ODD, physical disabilities (requiring physical care), sensory impairments (requiring frequent OT) and medical needs.
We are ideally looking for someone who has: experience of managing students with challenging behaviour; knowledge and experience of working with evidence based approaches; experience of managing SNAs in a team; knowledge of the role of a behaviour analyst and can work together to improve outcomes for our children; and , experience of implementing IEPs and BSPs. Knowledge and experience of working with children with severe and profound and ASD additional needs would be advantageous. Knowledge of using PECs, Lamh, positive behaviour strategies, first aid, manual handling, etc is a distinct advantage.
