An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Children’s Ark School is a special school funded and regulated by the Department of Education and Skills. This Hospital School is co-located with University Hospital Limerick and located in their Paediatric Unit.
Students of this school, aged 4-19 years, whose base schools are primary, post-primary and special, are children and adolescents who are managing medical conditions and who are receiving treatment in hospital.
The position advertised is for a Peripatetic Teacher (a teacher providing for education both in the classroom and at the bedside). The teacher’s main responsibility will be to primary school students.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on teaching qualification, relevant experience, understanding of a hospital school, experience in special education and understanding of working with a multidisciplinary team, and experience in teaching classes across the age and ability range.
Statutory Maternity Leave from 21/11/22 - 21/05/23 inclusive. There will also be an additional period of extended maternity cover available from 21/05/23 - 28/06/23.
