The Board of Management of Scoil Naomh Mhuire invites applications for the position of Teaching Principal. The post is effective from 31st August 2022. Scoil Naomh Mhuire is a mixed, primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Armagh. Current Staffing includes: 6 teachers, 3 SNA Posts and 2 Ancillary staff.
The roles and responsibilities for the post of Principal are aligned to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in circular 0044/2019.
Applicants should demonstrate:
• A commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school.
• The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education in a Catholic primary school.
• A good understanding of Leadership, Management and Administration in a primary school context.
• Interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• An ability to implement school-based initiatives, manage school teams and lead the school community.
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
• Experience prioritising, planning and organising workload.
• Proven leadership skills with experience of managing people.
• Previous teaching experience across all classes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A good level of understanding of special needs, inclusion and differentiation.
• Evidence of continuous and relevant professional development.
• Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives, as well as previous experience in policy development
• ICT skills.
