Global academic results
The 2020-2021 school year was the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 36.2 global point average (Bratislava achieved 37.1) and a 98% pass rate, with over 20 students earning a perfect score of 45 (2 of these were Bratislava!). In the A-levels, our students achieved 65.4% of grades at A*-A, along with 83.7% at A*-B, with a group-wide pass rate of 99.4% and seven schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate. In this year’s I/GCSE results, 59.6% of students achieved A*-A grades, with a group-wide pass rate of
89.5% and 13 Nord Anglia schools achieving a perfect 100% pass rate.

About the role
We’ll look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion. We encourage all our teachers to act as role models in promoting the core values, which have helped us to become first choice school for expatriate parents in Bratislava.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills meet deadlines and work well under pressure. A genuine interest in the all-round welfare of students is essential as is being able to work independently and as a member of a team. As well as teaching, the colleague would be expected to develop assessments, contribute to schemes of work, keep detailed student records, and take an active part in the development of the faculty. About you (see full Job description)
Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will need a relevant degree, a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / NQT) and a minimum of 2 years RELEVANT teaching/leadership experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Full details in Job Description)
▪ Inspire trust and confidence in students, colleagues and parents;
▪ Engage and motivate students;
▪ Continually strive to develop the quality of students’ learning;
▪ Use the student tracking and monitoring process to advance student learning and
enhance professional practice in line with the school's aspirations and priorities;

Teach students so that they achieve the best they can by:
▪ Positively targeting and supporting individual learning needs; Maintaining high levels of behaviour and discipline;
▪ Use performance data to evaluate students' progress and set appropriate targets for improvement;
▪ Report on progress to all stakeholders.
▪ Using modern technology to enhance learning opportunities;
▪ Making use of Nord Anglia Education Global Classroom online.
▪ Development of your subject area on our Learning Platform, Firefly-significant
experience of Technology use -Ipad technology use is desirable.
▪ Effectively using homework and other extra-curricular learning opportunities;
Establishing a purposeful and safe learning environment;
▪ Use assessment to inform planning and teaching;
▪ Planning effective teaching programmes which provide exemplary learning
opportunities within and beyond the classroom.
▪ Contribute positively to the morale and community spirit in the school;

▪ Take on the role of a form tutor
▪ Assist in whole school marketing initiatives and contribute to the growth of the school;
▪ Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school;

▪ Maintain subject(s) or specialism(s) to enable effective teaching;
▪ Keep knowledge of wider curriculum developments up to date;
▪ Undertake professional development to enhance teaching and students' learning, and apply outcomes and identify impact/share outcomes with colleagues;
▪ Meet responsibilities with regard to health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant legislation and conform to professional and ethical requirements;
