An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

These positions are for standard full time (32 hours ) posts and relate to both mainstream and an ASD class setting. Duties include but are not limited to supporting pupils with a variety of care needs including ASD, supporting children with communication difficulties,challenging behaviour and assisting pupils with intimate care/toileting needs. Previous experience and training in working with and supporting children with complex needs in a primary school setting is desirable. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and be willing to work in collaboration with all members of staff. Relevant qualifications as per DES guidelines are essential. The appointments are subject to but not limited to Garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening and satisfactory references.
