An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Vicarstown NS is a Mainstream school with ASD special classes attached. SNAs form an integral and valued part of our school team. We are seeking to fill two permanent posts for the coming school year:
1 x 0.75 Post( initially mainstream)
1 x 0.83 Post( initially early Intervention ASD Special Class)

The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:
-Experience working with children with ASD
-Experience dealing with intimate care needs and dealing with challenging behaviour
-A record of Continuous Professional Development
-Function well as part of team with evidence of appropriate experience
-Hold a minimum of a Level 5 Fetac award, Special Needs Assistant Course or similar

Appointment will be subject, but not limited, to receipt of satisfactory references, completion of current Vetting requirements and pre-employment Occupational Health Screening.

Interviews will take place as soon as possible taking into account public health guidance in relation to COVID19 and any further guidance from the Department of Education & Skills. Successful candidates will be required to participate in in-school training & planning prior to the school reopening at the end of August 2020.
