Ozanam Youth Group
Volunteer
Commitment : Minimum 6 months – Club runs from September to June
Hours : 2 hours per week 5.00pm to 7.00pm Monday or Wednesday
The Ozanam Youth Group caters for 6 to 13 year olds. Our Youth Group undertake a variety of activities each week including cookery, computers, arts & crafts, sports, music, drama, dance and many more. The children are split into two groups according to age and the groups are then lead by our team of volunteers. Our volunteers act as mentors and friends to the children, encouraging and supporting them throughout the project.
This club gives the young people a chance to find their hidden sometimes buried talents in a safe, fun, learning and social environment.
Training Provided
Induction Training – Introduction to the centre and the youth club
Child Protection Training.
Ongoing support and training from the Coordinator
Skills Required:
Sense of fun and enjoyment
Previous experience engaging young people and advantage but not necessary
Good communication skills
Understanding of community development
