An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Mary’s Special School invites applications for a fixed-term, part-time Art teacher (9 hours per week).
St. Mary’s is a special school for students with Autism, including students with:
Moderate to Severe/Profound Intellectual Disabilities
Complex medical needs

The successful candidate will be required to teach Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle Level 1 Learning Programmes (L1LP) and Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LP), with a strong focus on creative arts and expressive learning.
Essential Requirements
Teaching Council registration (Route 4 or appropriate route for post-primary/special education)
Experience or demonstrated ability in:
Teaching Art / Creative subjects
Delivering L1LP and/or L2LP programmes
Working with students with Autism and additional needs
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
Experience in a special school setting
Knowledge of:
Differentiated instruction
Visual supports / AAC
Sensory regulation strategies
Experience supporting students with complex needs
