An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St Joseph's NS are recruiting for one Special Needs Assistant for a fixed term post, covering a Career Break.
The position is for the full school year, for the full school day, starting 1st September 2026.
It is planned that the successful candidate will be required to work in an Autism Class setting, however this is subject to change and the successful candidate may be required to work in a Mainstream setting. Experience of both settings is desirable but not essential.
St Joseph's NS is a Catholic Primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Ossory - a willingness to uphold and support the Catholic ethos is essential.
The successful candidate will:
• Possess necessary qualifications and demonstrate relevant experience.
• Demonstrate professional competence and a deep understanding of the role of the SNA.
• Display knowledge of child protection guidelines.
• Be able to demonstrate their ability to work as part of a team.
The appointment will be subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and Medmark Occupational Health Screening.
Applications should be forwarded to the Chairperson of the Board of Management by post only by 3pm on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026.
