An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Holy Spirit BNS is a DEIS plus school for boys between the ages of 4 and 12/13 years which has 3 special classes for pupils with autism. Many of the pupils in the autism classes have complex needs including autism, intellectual disability, care needs (medical/toileting etc) and behaviours of concern. It is expected that all SNA staff can work in the autism classes and all SNA staff must be cleared by Medmark occupational health to be employed by the Board of Management.
This ad is for -
1 full time SNA (0855-1435 daily)
3 infant day SNAs (0855-1335 daily)
1 Part time SNA 4 hours per week, 9-10 Monday - Thursday
as well as time before and after school starts as per standard SNA contract.
School reopens for staff for training and induction on 27th August 2026 and attendance is mandatory.
The school day starts at 0855am and the successful candidates must be available to be on site 15-20 minutes prior to this to liaise with staff, assist with preparations for the school day, and accompany children from the school yard to/from class/to/from school transport as per the standard SNA contract. The SNA contract also requires a short amount of time after school to prepare/clean resources etc.
SNAs are involved in extra-curricular activities in the school, class full day tours, activities as required etc. Certification in administration of first aid is desirable.

- Candidates are required to have qualifications as per Department of Education guidelines.
- Appointment is subject to current vetting requirements, occupational health screening and satisfactory references.
- Department of Education circular 0032/2026 covers the role of the SNA and the requirements of the SNA contract and it is advised that all applicants read this carefully.

- The interviews will take place the last week in June or the first week in July, in person in the school (D11N207).
- Although the Board of Management provide a car park for staff on the boys side, it is on a first come first served basis and parking may not be available every day on site.
