The Guidance Counsellor at St Joseph's College plays a central role in supporting students’ academic, personal, and career development within a caring and student-centred environment. The role involves delivering a comprehensive guidance programme, including one-to-one counselling, wellbeing support, and facilitation of informed subject and career choices. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school leadership, year heads, tutors, and parents to promote student wellbeing and resilience. He/She will coordinate career education initiatives, manage relevant assessments and applications (including DARE, CAO and international pathways), and maintain up-to-date knowledge of further and higher education opportunities. A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and the holistic development of each student is essential.
