Setanta is a school for students with ASD aged 12 to 18, who have a Mild to Moderate Learning Disability. We employ both primary and secondary teachers. The post is fixed term part-time for 22 hours per week, and is open to teachers who are registered with the Teaching Council under Route 2 (Post Primary). Maximum 6 students and a minimum of 2 SNAs per class. The post will entail working with 12 class teachers, helping to implement the Junior Cycle Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LPs), and dividing the weekly hours accordingly. L2LPs build upon prior learning, and are designed primarily around five Priority Learning Units (PLUs) and two short courses that focus on the social, personal and pre-vocational skills which prepare students for further study, as well as for work and life. The five PLUs are Numeracy, Communication and Literacy, Personal Care.Living in our Community and Preparing for Work. The ability to work as part of a team essential.
