An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Gabriel’s is a Special School for 61 pupils aged 4-18 years of age who experience a primary complex physical disability and/ or complex medical needs. Many of our students have also been assessed as having moderate, severe/ profound learning disabilities. The majority of classes have a team of 1 teacher and 3 SNAs to help cater for the high level of need.
Developing the use of assistive technology to help students communicate and access the curriculum is an ongoing focus for the school. Experience of working in a special school will be considered highly desirable as will leading a team of SNAs and managing a programme of student support.
The school is located next to, and has a very close working relationship with, the St. Gabriel’s Foundation.
