An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Holy Family Junior school invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. Please outline in your letter of application how your skills/experience meet the requirements of the job description outlined below:
1. We are looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school.
2. We are looking for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, can contribute to our team and work on his/her own initiative.
3. Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children & the school.
4. Experience of and/or training in working with children with ASD, Emotional Behaviour Difficulties and medical care needs is desirable.
• This post will comprise of .74 hours of the working week for SNAs
• The initial duties of the post may change according to the care needs of the pupils.
• Appointment is subject to confirmation of qualifications, current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
• Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form (PF1) with their application.
• Applications will be accepted by email only.
• Canvassing will disqualify without exception.
• The position is subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review.
• Only those candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
