Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Principal in St. Patrick’s Central NS. This vibrant and inclusive school has a Catholic ethos and is under the patronage of the Catholic Diocese of Tuam. In September 2022 there will be 5 mainstream class teachers (incl. Principal), 1 special class teacher, 2 full-time SETs, 1 part-time SET, and a team of SNAs.
The successful candidate must have a recognised qualification to teach Religious Education and a commitment to promoting the Catholic Ethos.
Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications and Teaching Council Registration.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019
1. Leading, teaching and learning
2. Managing the organisation
3. Leading school development
4. Developing leadership capacity
Applicants should demonstrate:
An understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos
A comprehensive understanding of leadership, management and administration in a primary school context
Have proven interpersonal, leadership and communication skills, and ability to implement school- based initiatives, manage school teams and lead the school community.
Please include three copies of the Standard Application Form for Principalship for receipt on or before 28/06/2022. Please mark envelope ‘Principal Teacher Application’.
