The Board of Management of Our Lady of Good Counsel Boys National School invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent post commencing on the 1st November 2021. Our Lady of Good Counsel BNS is a mainstream, catholic school with 392 pupils. The school has a teaching staff of 16 mainstream class teachers, 6 SET, 4 Supply Teachers and an administrative Principal. We also have 9 SNA’s and a fulltime secretary and caretaker.
This is a key leadership role in the school and will be of interest to teachers who have experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives. The Deputy Principal will work in collaboration with the Principal and Assistant Principal to ensure the effective management of the school and to ensure that all pupils have a positive educational experience.
The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.

3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
A recognised qualification to teach Religious Education is an essential requirement.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria:
Fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
