It is preferable that the candidate will be qualified to teach at least one other curricular subject. Teaching of other non-curricular subjects may be required. Experience in the teaching of short courses and Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable. Learning Support, Resource teaching and Co-teaching may form part of this post. Staff may be required to teach Ethical Education.
Please note that specific contracts will not be devised until after the interview process has taken place as in the context of a start-up school a willingness on behalf of prospective teachers to teach a range of subjects (which may be new to them) will be key to ensuring the breadth of curriculum that we will be offering to our students. All positions and hours (as advertised) are subject to general allocation, curriculum concessions and sanction by the DES. They may be subject to change.
Limerick ETSS opened in August 2018 in temporary accommodation (the former Salesians Secondary School, Fernbank, North Circular Road), we are building a team who share the educational vision outlined in Educate Together's Blueprint for Second-Level School. See link: Educate Together Blueprint for Second-Level Schools. The new build for 1000 students is due to break ground this Autumn and will open in 2022/23. The 14 acre permanent site for the new school is located at Towlerton, Groody Road, Castletroy, Limerick.
