An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Scoil Aonghusa caters for students with moderate, severe and profound intellectual disability and students on the Autistic Spectrum aged 3-18 years. In addition, many students have additional needs such as physical, sensory, behavioural and complex medical conditions. The successful candidates must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Our post-primary aged students engage in the Junior Cycle Level 1 Programme. Knowledge and experience of working in a special school setting and implementing programmes such as ASD teaching strategies, Visual Supports, PECS, LAMH and positive behaviour management would be an advantage. The school participates in the Droichead Programme.
