An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Additional Information:
Mount Sion Primary School has a bus escort vacancy for the 2019-20 school year (183 days).
The escort will accompany pupils on transport from home (Dunmore East) to and from Mount Sion Primary School.
The bus escort must be available in the mornings from approximately 8.20am to 9:20am and from 2.30 to 3:30pm. (These are optimum guide times only and depend on the individual route).
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop off point agreed with the bus contractor.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus/taxi and will be required to provide for pupil care needs including but not limited to assisting them getting on and off the mini-bus, securing appropriate seat belts and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point etc. The position involves escorting children with ASD from home to school and then from school back home again in a mini-bus/taxi.
The ideal candidate would have some experience with working with children with ASD. Previous experience working with children with special needs, especially autism would be an advantage but is not essential.
The current hourly rate, set by the Department of Education, is €13.87 per hour. Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, an occupational health screening and Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
