Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Where applicable, please furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form (PF1). Candidates should note that these positions are subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review.
Candidates should have the following essential competencies:
• Minimum qualifications as per DES Circular 0037/2013;
• Vetting requirements as per DES Circular 0031/2016;
• Good understanding and knowledge of working with
children with Special Educational Needs, particularly
children with intimate care and toileting needs, feeding and behavioural issues.
Ideally candidates should:
• Have FETAC Level 5 or higher SNA and/or Childcare
Qualification;
• Have undertaken training and/or be familiar with Lámh
• Have the ability to work well within a team, demonstrate a
strong work ethic, display flexibility and be willing to
undertake additional training;
• Knowledge and experience of implementing positive
behaviour support strategies;
• Have very good ICT skills and be familiar with the
meaningful integration of ICT for children with SEN.
