An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management of School of the Holy Spirit seeks applications from suitably qualified SNAs for the above position. Salary and conditions are as per the Department of Education and Skills. Please submit a copy of Panel Form 1 where applicable.

School of the Holy Spirit is a special vertical school for students with Autism and/or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. Enrolment is 84 students aged between 4 and 18 years old. There are 15 teachers and 31 SNAs on staff. 7 classes are at primary level and 7 classes are at secondary level.

Applicants must have significant experience (minimum at least 2 years) of working in a special school environment as part of a special class team with students who have a primary diagnosis of autism.
Experience in essential competencies should include assisting with intimate care, positive behaviour support, and enabling pupils to access therapies. Experience in assisting pupils access to Multi-Sensory Integration Programmes would be a distinct advantage.

Qualifications in the following courses are desirable due to the specialised nature of the work in this school:
Fetac Level 5 Childcare or equivalent.
A panel of suitable applicants will be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within the school year 2019/2020. Suitable applicants may also be invited to join a substitute panel of SNAs.
