An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Gortnahoe NS has 5 mainstream class teachers, 2 full time SET posts and 1part-time. The SNA may be rotated at different times to support pupils with ASD, EBD and other needs throughout the school.
Applicants with panel rights are invited to submit a certified copy of Panel Form 1 (PF1) as required per circular 0041/2015.

Criteria for the position is as follows:
Applicants should have qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills Circular 0030/2019
Relevant qualifications/ courses e.g. First Aid, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS, Lámh, TEACHH would be highly desirable, along with experience in working with children who have a diagnosis of ASD and EBD.

Candidates must have a strong work ethic, respect the ethos of the school, work well as part of a team, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
