An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

In order to be eligible for appointment candidates must have a Certificate to teach R.E.
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable: Qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Qualification in Special Education, Evidence of
strong behaviour management skills, Experience in team teaching in Literacy Lift Off. Experience in Guided reading and Team-teaching in Maths. Experience in Music and Sports desirable. Experience in leading or participation in the following initiatives, Active School Flag programme, Yellow Flag programme, Blue Star Flag programme, GAA, Health Promotion, Creative Schools, Experience of teaching children with special needs in a mainstream setting.
