Greystones Community National School opened in September 2015 and as a Community National School, is part of a relatively new model of primary school established to answer the changing needs of Irish society. Greystones CNS is a multi-belief school which welcomes pupils of all faiths and none. The school is committed to a spirit of inclusion, equality and partnership in education. Greystones Community National Schools is under the patronage of Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.

The Positions

Greystones CNS will open its first special class in Sept 2019 and as such is seeking a committed and dedicated ASD class teacher to help us create an environment where children with ASD can achieve excellent outcomes. GCNS is committed to providing a quality education for children with ASD and highly complex needs offering a child-centred autism specific education, which draws on a range of evidence based interventions.
The position will be permanent and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to create an excellent culture in a state of art environment. We envisage that the ASD class is an integrated part of the school and its staff the same. We strive to be as inclusive as possible and are delighted to be opening our ASD class. GCNS. Candidates must have experience of teaching children with Autism and complex needs, preferably in an ASD special class.
As a developing school we present a unique opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career and quickly become a key staff member in what is a rapidly growing school. Staff members must be prepared to be very flexible in what is a new setting and so a constantly evolving environment. We are in temporary accommodation at the moment but will move to a brand new 24 classroom building in 2019/2020 with 2 state of the art ASD Classrooms. The successful candidate must be ready to start school for a Staff Training day on Tues 27th of August 2019. The school opens to children on Wed 28th August.

National Vetting Bureau and Occupational Health
All new employees must be Garda Vetted under the new arrangements made with the Teaching Council. The school must have proof of this before a teacher is allowed to take up work. Teachers will also have to complete OHS with Medmark prior to taking up the role.
