An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management initially advertised this permanent vacancy on this website on the
26th day of July, 2018, for teachers listed on the Supplementary Panel of the Diocese of Killaloe.
The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest was the 1 st day of August, 2018. The
closing date for submissions of expressions of interest from teachers on the relevant
Supplementary Panel was extended by advertisement on this website to the 4 th day of August,
2018.
The Board is now proceeding to fill this permanent vacancy through open competition.
St. Anne’s Special School is a co-educational school for pupils from 4 to 18 years of age who
may present with either a severe/profound or moderate general learning disability and/or autism.
8 class teachers and 21 SNAs provide instruction for all pupils. The successful applicant will
initially be assigned as a special class teacher to a group of young pupils presenting with autism
and a moderate general learning disability, but this is subject to change. Experience in working
with children with autism with additional qualifications in PECS, ABA and TEACCH would be an
advantage.
As this is a Catholic School, the successful candidate must have a certificate to teach R.E.
Please detail how you meet the advantageous qualifications listed and the certificate to teach
R.E. in your letter of application.
Please also include the contact details of 3 referees.
Candidates called to interview will be required to bring proof of qualifications.
Please include a large SAE for return of documents.
