Position for Part-time Pre-University Chemistry Lecturer in Dublin

Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC) is a foundation college based on the Griffith College campus. We run foundation programmes which allow international students to progress to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ireland and the UK. We urgently require a Chemistry Lecturer to teach on the International Foundation Year programme (Science and Engineering stream) starting 26 March until 24 May (Easter break from 30 March until 9 April).

Details of the role:
• 8 teaching hours per week (with the possibility of extra hours
• A combination of lectures and tutorials
• Approximately first year undergraduate standard
• Involves setting and grading coursework and exams (both formative and summative)
• Involves working with students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds

Essential:
• Minimum of Honours Degree in Chemistry-related field with an excellent grounding in Organic and Physical Chemistry
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience

Desirable:
• Experience of working with international students
• Excellent communication and administrative skills
• English language teaching qualification such as CELTA
