Overview
Camara Education Ireland is a vibrant, award-winning social enterprise that aims to reform the education system and empower educators in less advantaged and under resourced communities to provide world class education to all.

As an education non-profit, we have worked with over 600 youth organisations, schools and community organisations to help them to integrate technology as a learning tool. Our customised solutions have helped over 2,000 educators to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use digital and STEM tools to enhance their practice. Educators are equipped to inspire learners to master 21st century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.
We do this by delivering two programmes of work: the TechSpace Programme and the Schools & Community Programme.

A team of eight people work at Camara Education Ireland, the Irish education hub of the international development organisation Camara Education. The TechSpace Digital Project Officer role sits within Camara Ireland’s Education & Training function.

The Role
The successful candidate will join the dedicated TechSpace Programme team within Camara Education Ireland and work alongside a national network of youth organisations and schools to deliver the unique creative education programme for young people.

The TechSpace Digital Project Officer will be responsible for the delivery of tailored TechSpace digital media trainings to youth workers across the TechSpace Network. The Network has over 130 educators in 80+ sites in youth organisations throughout the Republic of Ireland.

The role also provides ongoing creative and technical support. A key part of the role is to build the youth workers as a community of digital practitioners and help coordinate related activities and events, such as the Creative Tech Festival.

Key areas of responsibility are:
-Project Coordination: planning, managing, reporting and executing against a set of defined project deliverables and budget.
-Training Delivery: deliver TechSpace digital media training to youth workers in youth organisations and schools throughout Ireland
-Community Support: build the TechSpace Network of educators through the provision of needs based, creative and technical support to equip educators with the knowledge, confidence and skills to facilitate digital media projects with young people.
-Training Development: iterate training courses based on needs of participants
-Monitoring & Evaluation: implementation and reporting on funded project deliverables.
-Event Management: planning and coordination of opportunities for young people and educators including showcase events.
-Communications: coordinate all internal and external project communications on social media and online platforms.


Requirements:
Skills / Knowledge / Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree with ‘train the trainer’ and facilitation experience and/or 3+ years relevant experience delivering ‘train the trainer’ digital media education in youth settings.
-Experience facilitating young people in an after-school youth setting and/or in a voluntary or professional capacity.
-Experience delivering Constructivist, learning by doing and inquiry based models of learning.
-Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of and has proven track record of implementing projects to meet operational targets.
-Creative thinker and problem solver with the ability to be resourceful, think quickly, work flexibly, adapt to changing situations and has strong attention to detail.
-Strong technical skills across digital equipment and Adobe software, as well as other digital tools and creative softwares.
-Excellent communication skills with confidence to initiate in person contact with youth workers to build a community of digital youth work practitioners.
-Foster strong relationships with external funders and partners.
-Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills.
-Comfortable working with colleagues remotely located.

Desirable
-Prior experience of the TechSpace Programme and/or Adobe Youth Voices.
-Good knowledge of STEM, including 3D design and printing, and Maker activities.
-Passionate about supporting youth workers and educators to have access to learning opportunities that enhance young people’s learning experiences.
-Knowledge of international best practice resources and ideas in the fields of creative technology, STEM, education and youth development.

Role Specifics
-Full-time contract.
-The successful candidate must have own transport and a full driver's licence.
-Role requires regular travel throughout Ireland to deliver training and support.
-Travel and staff expenses are reimbursed in line with Camara’s relevant policy.
-The role will involve some flexibility in hours worked in order to meet project commitments, attend events and visit youth work organisations as necessary.
