Douglas N.S. is a Catholic School in the Dioceses of Kerry. Applicants for this position must have a Certificate to teach R.E. and an understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic School.
In addition the following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable
• Previous multi-grade teaching experience in a multi-grade school
• Proven Leadership skills
• Experience in managing people and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience in the development and implementation of school based initiatives and policies.
• Experience in prioritising, planning and organizing workload;
• Involvement in continuing and relevant professional development.
• Ability to work with the wider school community.
• Knowledge and experience in special education
• Good communication,organisational and ICT skills
• Familiarity with the dynamics, challenges and opportunities presented by a rural school.
• A commitment to working with the school community to promote the school in order to encourage enrolments.
• A commitment to promoting sport, arts, music, gaeilge and Irish culture and extra-curricular activities among the pupils
