Freelance ICT Trainer
Description:
Camara Education Ireland is a vibrant, award-winning social enterprise that aims to reform the education system and empower educators in less advantaged and under resourced communities to provide world class education to all.

As an education non-profit, we have worked with over 600 schools, community and youth organisations to help them to integrate technology as a learning tool. Our customised solutions have helped over 2,000 educators to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use digital tools to enhance their practice. Educators are equipped to inspire learners to master 21st century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. We do this by delivering two programmes of work: the Schools & Community Programme and the TechSpace Programme.

We are hiring Freelance ICT Trainers to support the delivery of our ICT training courses to schools and community organisations. This role will be supervised by the Schools and Community Programme Coordinator.

Role Specifics:
Job type: contract - paid hourly or by the day in line with school sector rates, plus travel expenses.
Location: Dublin but there is some flexibility around this.
The successful candidate will receive full training and support to deliver the training courses to the organisation’s standards.
The successful candidate must have own transport and a full driver's license.

Responsibilities:
Represent Camara Education Ireland and deliver a suite of training courses to organisational standards.
Collect training evaluation feedback.
Complete trainer’s evaluation reports and provide feedback on the most appropriate format of training materials for each training scenario.
Travel to training sites throughout Ireland.
Set up of the learning environment, including IT equipment if required.
Preparation of training resources.
Confidence to manage large groups, small groups, and 1:1 training.


Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience in a training delivery role e.g. in a professional services company or education setting e.g. in a formal (classroom) or non-formal setting (community centre) to teachers or community workers
Formal training qualifications such as Google Certified Trainer, ECDL, MOS, MCAS, JEB or a qualified teacher with IT qualifications.

Skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to explain IT applications in simple user friendly language
Accommodate learners with varying levels of ability.
Ensure a consistent approach for all training activities.
Ensure measurement of training effectiveness on a continuous basis.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to deliver and evaluate training
Maintain a high level of attention to detail
Support and coach trainees to build confidence to integrate educational technology tools to enhance their teaching, learning and assessment practices.

Desired Knowledge:
Experience delivering GSuite for Education / Work and other EdTech tools.
Strong understanding of the formal and / or non-formal education systems in Ireland.
