Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Two posts may arise in Galway Steiner National School. We are now advertising these posts subject to DES approval and subsequent allocation. Essential qualifications as per DES criteria for SNA, Circular 00037/2013.
The first post is 0.5 (16 hours per week) over 5 days each week.
Specific competencies required: Capability to fulfill the care needs of children with Speech & Language difficulties, physical needs, care needs and Autism essential.
The second post is 0.83 of a full post ( 26.56 hours ) spread over a 5 day week.
Specific competencies required: Capability to fulfill the care needs of children with Emotional Disturbance and Behavioural Problems.
Appointments will be subject to vetting requirements as detailed in DES Circular 0031/2016 and OHS screening. Where applicable please furnish a certified copy of a completed special needs assistant supplementary assignment form. (PF1) Please write 'SNA Application' on top left hand corner of envelope
