St. Joseph's School is a special school that caters for students aged 5 to 18 years of age with Mild General Learning Disabilities and associated disabilities. A number of the students have ASD while a number of students have significant emotional and behavioural challenges. It is essential that applicants should have experience in working with students with learning disabilities and complex difficulties in a special school or class setting and have worked as part of a school based team. It is essential that applicants have had experience of working with students in the 12 plus age range.
Experience in the following is desirable: assistance with personal hygiene/toileting; behaviours that challenge; physiotherapy; speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and sensory programmes. Experience in the use of iPads, computer programmes, LÁMH sign language, CPI and/or Studio 3 is also desirable. Closing date February 17th February at 5pm. Canvassing with disqualify.
