Grinds Club Volunteer
Primary Level
Commitment : Minimum 6 months – Academic term runs from September to June
Hours : 120 minutes per week 5.00pm to 7.00pm Monday or Wednesday
Assisting Primary school Students (4th to 6th Class) with their homework
Volunteers will provide students with extra assistance with subjects they have difficulties in.
Ozanam House offers assistance in a warm and welcoming environment. The students have a break during classes and are taken on social trips during the school year balancing homework with some fun and games.
Training
Induction training
Initial and ongoing training provided by Coordinator
Skills required:
Good knowledge and understanding of primary school subjects
Teacher training an advantage but not necessary
Good communication and people skills
Understanding of community development
